About Marlon
Marlon joined Gravie in 2023, and prior to his promotion to General Counsel, served as Deputy General Counsel, responsible for commercial and corporate legal matters across Gravie, Inc. and its subsidiaries. As General Counsel, he leads both the legal and compliance teams supporting all aspects of Gravie’s mission to build a health plan everyone can love.
Prior to joining Gravie, Marlon served as Associate General Counsel and Interim Head of Legal at Sword Health, a venture-backed healthcare technology company focused on addressing muscoloskeletal and pelvic health concerns. Prior to that, he spent roughly a decade at UnitedHealth Group, a Fortune 5 diversified healthcare company, building and supporting its suite of global insurance, assistance and other comprehensive cross-border solutions within UnitedHealthcare Global, and at Change Healthcare supporting its network solutions business prior to its acquisition by Optum. Marlon began his now 17+ year legal career as a corporate associate at Faegre Drinker, a large full-service law firm in Minneapolis, MN, working on a wide variety of M&A, corporate finance and general corporate matters.
Marlon has a passion for helping others realize their potential and is an active community volunteer. He is Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors of Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare, which cares for patients living with some of the most complex brain, bone and movement conditions in pediatric medicine. He recently completed his service as Chairman of the Board of Directors for Breakthrough Twin Cities, a non-profit in the educational equity space and serves on the governance and finance committees of The Sanneh Foundation. Marlon holds a J.D. from The George Washington University Law School, a M.B.A. from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota, and a B.A. from Amherst College.
